CHURCH HISTORY

From Humble Beginnings... Going on 30 Years!

In 1988, a group of high school students attending a Bible study in Mililani decided to start a church in the community.  They asked Pastor Jeff MacKay, the youth pastor at Hope Chapel Kaneohe at the time, to be their pastor and he gladly accepted the position.

In October of that same year, they began holding services on Sunday evenings in the cafeteria at Kipapa Elementary School.  The church rapidly grew from its original thirty members and after only three weeks, a Sunday morning service was added.  The church location changed a few times over the coming years, and its congregation grew and flourished.

In 1998, God moved on Pastor Jeff’s heart for him to plant a new church in Osaka, Japan. It was a bittersweet moment saying goodbye to its founding pastor but the church looked forward to new season of change and growth.

In 2003, Pastor Tim Greseth was inspired to create a new beginning for the church. With a new vision of reaching beyond the community of Mililani, the church celebrated its 15th Anniversary and re-grand opening at Hope Chapel Mililani.

From humble beginnings, God has blessed and grown this church.  Next year will mark it's 30th anniversary of shining God's light in Mililani and beyond.
