"Welcome Home!"

Our History

In 1988, a group of young people that were attending a Bible study in Mililani decided to start a church in the community.  At that time, Pastor Jeff MacKay was the youth pastor at Hope Chapel Kaneohe. This group of High School students asked him to be their pastor and he gladly accepted the position and Hope Chapel Mililani was born. In October of that same year, they began holding services on Sunday evenings in the cafeteria at Kipapa Elementary School.  The church was rapidly growing from these thirty people. After only three weeks, a Sunday morning service was added.

For the first four years, the church was able to meet at Kipapa Elementary School for both the morning and evening services. However, this location eventually became unavailable. Since then, the church has met at variety of locations such as, Recreation Centers, other schools and the YMCA in Mililani.

In 1998, God moved on Pastor Jeff’s heart for him to plant a new church in Osaka, Japan. It was a bittersweet moment for us as we said goodbye to our founding pastor and looked forward to new season of changing and growing.

At the start of 2003, Pastor Tim Greseth was inspired to create a new beginning for the church. With a new vision in reaching out beyond the community of Mililani, the church celebrated its 15th Anniversary and re-grand opening at Hope Chapel Mililani.

Currently, Hope Chapel Mililani meets Sunday mornings for services at Mililani Uka Elementary School. Our Youth Ministry holds separate services for Middle and High School students during the week.  A variety of small groups, or what we like to call MiniChurches, meet on various nights throughout the week for Bible study and fellowship.

Our church belongs to a denomination called the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel or ICFG.  For more information about our denomination, check out their website at Foursquare.org
